Why don't Americans support people like Flloyd Mayweather Jr. 41-0 and Barrack Obama?

Example undefeated fighter but only get's credit for cherry picking fighter. 2nd Example it took our country more then 8 years to dig the whole we are yet we can't even give the president the benefit of the doubt considering progress is being made.
